About the Event
During our third maskihkiy monday, Wiisug will share teachings of "Muk kun dwe," how the bear lives its life. He will discuss the bears' earthen linkages to self care, and its parallels to the human spirit as related to The Way of Our People. All are welcome.
Wiisug (medicine root) Donald Richard Wright Sr. is a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, and belongs to the Bear Clan and Band of Pillagers. He is the author of "The Way of Our People," and has been working in addictions treatment since 1986. Wiisug incorporates the wisdom of his traditional upbringing and teachings of the bear into his work bringing helping and healing to Indigenous peoples.
